Family and Friends,
I can see that word is getting out about our team website as there have been many posts by people outside of the immediate family network. This is great and please feel free to pass along our link to anyone you think might be interested.
First off, I have to start by saying Thank you to Mama Mia I can't remember if I mentioned it in a past update, but her and her friends put together a box of school supplies for us to give to the Iraqi Children. The kids loved the supplies, and of course we enjoyed handing them out.
Also I have to thank the Burns Family as they have spread the word about our team and recieved donations from the people of Cincinnati Bell to send to the team. The packages will be greatly appreciated but the thought means even more.
As for the team we have been branching out from our normal neighborhoods and have recently toured other parts of the city. We've been on a hunt for a deed and have had to look about 4 different places with no luck. The drive has been fun though. Seeing the city of Ramadi, and it's sub-neighborhoods really opens your eyes. For anyone who has been here in the past, it is hard to believe it is the same city that went through 5 years of war. For those of us who are seeing these areas for the first time it makes you think how some people live and just how lucky we Americans are. Part of me felt like the country boys coming to town becasue we are usually surrounded by farms and were in awe of some of the buildings. Great experience.
The Iraqi food remains very good, for those of us who still eat it. Some of the team has sworn off of it because of a few too many meals that have disagreed with thier stomachs. With the number of projects that we do becoming smaller and smaller, Contractors and Sheiks try to win favor by having more and more lavish meals. It isn't working, but we enjoy the meal nonetheless.
We are currently working on some projects that bring all players into the fold. One project in particular has State Dept., Government of Iraq, Non-government Organizations, Company level, Battalion level, and MEF level interaction to make it work. There are a lot of moving parts but it really shows everyone is working toward the same goal.
Until next time, Thank you for everything that you do and please continue to support your friends and family on Team 3.
